The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is a $4 billion grant program offered by the Government of Canada to help small and medium-sized enterprises adopt digital technologies to grow their business competitiveness.
Two categories are available for eligible Canadian businesses. The Grow Your Business Online for small businesses and Boost Your Business Technology) for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

What is the Canada digital adoption program?
The CDAP is a new $4 billion program offered by the Canadian government and managed thru Business Development Canada (BDC) to help Canadian SMB’s (small and medium-sized businesses) to stay competitive and grow thru a digital transformation plan.

Grow Your Business Online
The Grow Your Business Online work stream supports small, consumer-facing businesses with at least one employee. Businesses get access to a network of digital advisors or e-commerce advisors, and a micro-grant of up to $2,400 for eligible digital adoption costs.

Boost Your Business Technology
The Boost Your Business Technology supports small to medium businesses with at least one employee and between $500,000 and $5 million in annual revenue.
The program provides up to $15,000 for the creation of a digital adoption plan, as well as a $100,000 interest-free loan and a $7,300 wage subsidy to help implement the plan.
The Boost Your Business Technology stream is delivered through the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. Learn more about CDAP’s Boost your Business Technology work stream.
How do I apply for CDAP’s Grow Your Business Online grant?
Canadian businesses can apply for CDAP’s Grow Your Business Online work stream here.
This CDAP grant will help up to 90,000 small Canadian businesses take advantage of e-commerce opportunities and eligible businesses can receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with adopting digital technologies.
Once applications are approved, access is granted to a list of e-commerce advisors to browse and connect with for their help, or contact our e-commerce advisors now with your questions.
Application Process
Applications can only be submitted by a small business that meets all of the following criteria outlined on the government of Canada’s website here.
What will a CDAP’s e-commerce advisor do to help my business?
One of our e-commerce advisors will work with you and your business to understand the digital needs, problems, goals and opportunities.
An e-commerce advisor will then create your e-commerce strategy and help you how to deploy new digital capabilities or technologies.
Our e-commerce advisors are live-and-breathe helping businesses establish an e-commerce strategy to either compliment the existing business model, or transform the business to move to an online e-commerce business model.
E-commerce typically leads to two different categories: the use of e-commerce as a medium of marketing (ex. retail, wholesale, auctions, e-banking, etc.) and the second is software applications of e-commerce; whether its your own online e-store presence that offers customers an online shopping experience, or expanding to new digital verticals thru e-commerce application (known as m-commerce applications) as Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Groupon, etc.
Your e-commerce plan will typically fall into one of three categories; B2B (business-to-business), B2C (business-to-consumer and C2C (consumer-to-consumer). Each can require a different strategic approach for your business.
Our e-commerce advisors can help you understand the Grow Your Business Online grant, learn the capabilities of e-commerce solutions and tools, provide a basic understanding of cyber security, and help develop a strategy that is the right ‘fit’ for your business that will commercialize the value of online commerce.

How do I apply for CDAP’s Boost Your Business Technology grant?
The Boost Your Business Technology grant covers up to 90% of the eligible cost to retain the services of a digital advisor, up to a maximum value of $15,000 per SME to develop a digital adoption plan.
This work stream provides support to Canadian-owned small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) who seek to adopt new digital technologies and capabilities.
Eligible businesses have access to a marketplace of digital adoption experts to help develop a digital adoption plan tailored to the business needs and goals.

Grants available for eligible SME’s can cover to 90% of the cost of hiring a digital advisor, up to a max. value of $15,000 to develop a digital adoption plan. SME’s also have the opportunity to secure 0% interest loan up to $100K and a wage subsidy to execute the digital adoption plan.
Grow Your Business Online
Consumer-facing small businesses can apply to the CDAP for eligibility of a micro-grant and an expert e-commerce advisor.
The grant targets to help small businesses adopt digital technologies and solutions to serve customers more effectively, grow business to attract new customers across the digital landscape and remain competitive.
The Grow Your Business Online grant will help small business development and implement e-commerce capabilities and opportunities. The grant will help up to 90,000 small businesses e.
Eligible small businesses can receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with costs related to adopting digital technologies and solutions. Grants will be available through local and regional service providers across Canada.
If approved, small businesses can select an e-commerce advisor as MJ Digital who will work with the business to advise and help with a e-commerce digital adoption plan.

Boost Your Business Technology
The Boost Your Business Technology grant is tailored too small to medium-sized Canadian enterprises (SME) who seek adoption of new digital technologies.
SME’s will have access to digital experts as MJ Digital who will help develop a digital adoption plan tailored to the SME needs and goals.
SME’s can use the grant to reimburse for the digital adoption services of a digital advisor. MJ Digitals’ advisors work with businesses to develop a strategic digital plan to pave the path of achieving the commercial business goals and improve competitiveness in the digital economy.
The Boost Your Business Technology grant covers up to 90% of the eligible cost of hiring a digital advisor, up to a max. grant value of $15,000 to develop a digital adoption plan. Businesses will also have the opportunity to secure a 0% interest loan from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) to support the acquisition of new technology solutions.
Approved SME’s can also leverage the help of post-secondary students and recent graduates through subsidized work placements.
